This is a Fresh Water Mussel and not a true Mother Of Pearl.

Size #1 indicates the size of most (About 75%) of the blanks that the shells yield.

May be a little larger or smaller than the blanks shown.

This shell is the least expensive that we sell.  Very very white with some blanks having a little discoloration.

Many blanks have a rippled or fiddle curly look.

The color flash is minimal but the strong white color gives a strong contrast to Black Ebony. This is a great shell for those who are just starting out in inlaying and want a material that will look good without spending a lot of money.
